Who doesn’t love Hoboken engagement photos?  Sibley and Tim’s session was a lot of fun.  We actually explored Hoboken a bit more in depth which opened up for some extra creativity in this session – love it!  I adored the outfits these two chose and couldn’t be more excited for their wedding next year! Read below to hear more from the bride and groom:

From the bride on their attire:

“I wanted to incorporate my favorite color, navy, but also liked the idea of white pants and a light colored blouse. Due to my indecisiveness I decided on two outfits! For the first one, I wore a blouse that I actually grabbed last minute from Jcrew factory after striking out looking for a navy dress! It was perfect for a light and airy feel, the pants I have had forever and the necklace is also from Jcrew factory. I searched for a semi casual/nice looking navy dress and was having horrible luck… I ended up using a Lilly Pulitzer dress I already had that had the texture I wanted with a semi dressy shape! Shoes were an easy choice from Nine West as I wanted a color that wouldn’t cut me off at the ankle and look feminine. “

How did you two meet?

We both had been invited to a surprise birthday. The birthday girl was a childhood friend of mine and her husband was Tim’s college roommate. We actually had an awkward night, trying to talk to each other from across a giant table, however, the second the person I was sitting next to got up Tim took the seat and we continued talking for the rest of the night. After the party we both texted our mutual friend asking about each other. We went on our first official date a little more than a week after that night and the rest is history! 

What do you both enjoy doing together with your free time?

On our free time we enjoy going for walks together. It can be around the neighborhood, or along the Hudson either in Englewood Cliffs or in Hoboken, really anywhere if the weather’s nice. It’s a great time for us to catch up and just enjoy being together without the stresses of life. 

How did Tim ‘pop’ the question?

Tim popped “the question” during one of our walks along the Hudson in Englewood Cliffs. I thought it was just another walk and afterwards we were going to have dinner with our friends who introduced us. He proposed on a bench at a point in the walk where we normally sit and enjoy the NYC skyline. After, instead of meeting up with our friends he surprised me with both of our families (and our mutual friends) at my parents house to celebrate! It was so special as we are both very close to our families, and they came from all over to be with us that night.

What are you most excited about for your wedding?

It’s so hard to narrow it down to one thing, the whole day is going to be amazing, each part in its own way. We are really excited about about the moment when we are introduced as “Mr & Mrs” AND we can’t wait for our band! They seem like they are going to make the night with all of our loved ones a BLAST! 

What’s one thing that drew you to your significant other?

Bride: Tim’s cute looks are what initially drew me to him ;)! After our first date I realized he was also a true gentleman. As I got to know Tim more my love grew stronger realizing what a selfless person he is. He always wants to put others happiness before his own, it is a very rare person who honestly wants to put others before themselves.
