Who doesn’t love an engagement session that incorporates a couples favorite things? Jessica and Kevin’s Philadelphia engagement photos were so much fun.  We explored the Navy Yard to start and then finished up in town where we got so many great images.  Jess and Kevin brought along their four-legged companion who was quite adorable. 🙂 After exploring the streets of Philadelphia and capturing some great moments between these two, I’m definitely excited to not only share these images but am so excited to photograph their wedding next year!  Read more about this couple below 🙂

How did you two meet?

From the bride: At a lovely bar called Yonkers in Manayunk through one of our mutual friends. It’s closed now but it was home to the $2 cocktail… I noticed Kevin because he was wearing a CTU Bauer shirt like from the show 24 so I obviously had to show my friend. We started up a real conversation later on that night and realized we had a lot in common. I didn’t have a chance to give him my number that night but told him if he wanted it to ask our mutual friend. He did and called me on the phone the next day to ask me out on a date. The rest is history!

What’s something annoying but cute that each of you do?

Kevin- Jess likes to use expressions a lot, but… not always the way they were intended to be used. But that’s water under the dam, right Jess?

Jess- Kev has this way of making friends with literally everyone! He is so friendly and warm that people are just drawn to him. This has become a bit of a problem when it comes to the invite list however! We can’t invite every person that he became friends with in Thailand, Korea, and Guam where Kev has traveled to multiple times for work. We need a bigger venue I think!! (That same quality though is definitely one of the things I love most about him) 🙂

How did he pop the question?

He surprised me by bringing me to Forbidden Drive where we’ll often take our dog. He was pretty calm and cool until we got to the creek where we usually let Buddy swim. Kevin was rushing to get me down to the water and asked me to get a picture of him with the dog. This was the odd part for me since I take a million pictures of the two of them and he usually tells me to quit it! I went to take the picture and out of the corner of my eye I saw a banner that said, “marry me J?” and realized he was down on one knee. It was a great surprise and it meant a lot that he put so much thought and planning into making it special for me. Forbidden Drive was always a special place to us but now it means so much more!

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to in your life-after-marriage together?

Jess- Officially being The Hindses! It’ll be nice to officially be a family even though we already consider us to be one now!

Kevin- I agree. We already made our big life moves this year, so settling into our new home is our next goal.

What do you both enjoy doing together with your free time?

Exploring anywhere! We love checking out the city, the suburbs (especially with our dog, Buddy), and going around the world together. We love trying new things and getting emerged in other cultures.
