Today’s love story begins with Kristen and Kyle, two high school sweet hearts and the most adorable duo!  I had the pleasure of photographing their Grand Marquis wedding photos and I adored Kristen’s choice of bold blue colors! Kristen wore a beautiful, strapless, Madison James gown and her bridesmaids all stood by her side in Jasmine Bridal bridesmaid gowns in a deep blue. Kristen and Kyle chose not to do a first look but they left plenty of time in between church and their cocktail hour for us to head over the Craig House for some lovely portraits!

After the photo session we headed to the Grand Marquis for dinner and dancing. Kristen’s Uncle wrote the first dance song entitled “High School Sweethearts” it was beautiful and such a sweet gesture. Of course, no evening would be complete without entertainment from POSH DJs and a delicious Viennese hour from Grand Marquis!

How did you two meet and fall in love?

We met in high school. We were both on the cross-country and track teams. One of my best friends (and bridesmaid!) introduced us one day during winter track. We started dating soon after and have been together ever since! We fell in love slowly as the relationship grew. We have always had a playful and fun relationship and Kyle once told me that he knew he was in love with me when I finished half a pizza by myself. 🙂

What was most important to you when planning your wedding?

We wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities and our story together. Since we had been dating for 10 years before getting engaged, we have shared a lot of memories, love, and laughter. We really wanted to express what was important to us through the components of our wedding.

 

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

High school sweethearts! We didn’t plan to have a theme, but, as we were planning the wedding, certain elements from high school and our time together kept popping up. My uncle wrote us our first dance song entitled High School Sweethearts – so that sealed the deal!

What is your favorite memory from your wedding?

Our favorite memory (it’s hard to pick one!) from the wedding day was seeing each other for the first time as Kristen walked down the aisle. Locking eyes and knowing the vows we were about to take was exciting and emotional. We could see the happiness in the other’s eyes…and we both cried (tears of joy, of course)!

How will you describe the feeling you had on your wedding day to your children one day?

When talking to our future children, Kyle thinks exuberant is the perfect adjective and I like the word blissful. Both words seem to capture how we were bursting with happiness and couldn’t stop smiling. It was the perfect day!
