Phil Wellington Memorial Tournament

A while ago Toby Stark, President of the Lions Club, asked me to photograph this upcoming tournament and I was more than happy to do it. This event was to help raise money to benefit the Fisher House™ Foundation (http://www.fisherhouse.org/). The Fisher House™ program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America’s military in their time of need. The program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.

It also benefitted the Captain James M. Gurbisz Foundation whose mission is to work with at risk children in the Eatontown area. This foundation hits home a little bit more as the foundation was founded after the death of Captain James Gurbisz in Iraq. Jimmy Gurbisz graduated from Monmouth Regional High School only a few years before me and his death affected not only myself, but deeply hurt my close friends who knew him personally for years.

It was an honor to be a part of this event, and it was great seeing some old friends from high school as well. Check out the slide show below (as always facebook-ers, view original post!).
Thanks so much to Ed Carnes for taking this picture! Haha, it’s always fun to be asked to stand on the other side of the camera!!
