Kathryn & Sohail :: Married :: Grand Marquis :: Indian Wedding Photos :: NJ Wedding Photographer

February 3, 2026

Katie and Sohail’s multicultural Indian wedding was timeless, airy and elegant. Katie looked absolutely breathless in her simple yet dreamy David’s bridal gown. She tied a high-neck, low back gown with a beautifully detailed sleeved cover up and it paired perfectly with Sohail’s traditional Sherwani from Pakistan. We were amazed by his traditional garment, the patterns and weaving looked as if it were made by somewhere like Sonas Haute Couture, it made him look handsome on their big day. Katie was eager to meet her groom at their anticipated first look as was Sohail. We arrived at the Courthouse in Freehold where Katie and Sohail got to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. It was adorable and so sweet that Sohail couldn’t keep from tearing up - Katie looked so dreamy and beautiful! We took some beautiful portraits in Freehold and then headed to the Grand Marquis where the traditional Indian ceremony took place and then a phenomenal party happened! Of course, floral designs and details were impeccable thanks to Ravi Varma of Mandap Design and the entertainment was on point since SCE Event Group was there! Congratulations Katie and Sohail it was a pleasure being a part of your day! 🙂 EnJOY!

How did you two meet and fall in love?
We used to work at the same hospital and saw each other every now and then. We didn’t really know each other but I thought he was very handsome and funny.
We ran into each other on my last day of work, and when he found out I was leaving to start a new job he asked me to dinner!
On our first date he was a perfect gentleman, and his charm and sense of humor won me over.

What was most important to you when planning your wedding?
We had a large wedding with friends and family from near and far, including overseas. It was important to us that our guests felt comfortable and enjoyed themselves. During the planning process we focussed on blending our cultures and creating an intimate and warm environment.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?
Our biggest inspiration was Sohail’s Pakistani culture. We wanted to put an American spin on his family traditions and also create an tone of understated elegance. We used burgundy as an accent color instead of traditional red typically worn by the bride. The bridal dress was custom made by Susan Perrone Couture and was my favorite thing about the wedding. The dress inspired the rest of the decor.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding?
I loved our “First Look.” It was such a busy and crazy day, and it felt like a nice time-out to see my husband-to-be and to take a few moments to appreciate the day.

How will you describe the feeling you had on your wedding day to your children one day?
I would tell my children that the whole day was a ball of excitement and nerves for me. Everyone warned me that the day would fly by and it would all be a blur, but I think because of all the warnings I was careful to enjoy little moments throughout the day.
