Nicole and AJ :: Engaged :: Liberty State Park Engagement Photos

January 18, 2017

Nicole & AJ :: Liberty State Park Engagement Photos

I thoroughly enjoyed taking Nicole and AJ’s Liberty State Park engagement photos.  The weather was great despite the usual wind at the harbor. Nicole and AJ both chose to wear blue, their favorite colors. I absolutely adored the dress Nicole chose  – and she paired it beautifully with nude pumps!

I always enjoy hearing my couples proposal stories and I have to say, Nicole and AJs was creative and so sweet. AJ chose to propose to Nicole in Times Square.  You can scroll down below to hear more about it and view the video!

I can’t wait to photograph these two lovebirds’ wedding in December!

AJ and I decided to take our engagement photos at Liberty State Park because it has special meaning to us. We met in New York City and wanted the beautiful skyline with the Freedom Tower in the background – as we are proud Americans. We both have the same favorite color – blue – and we chose outfits that accented each other perfectly. I love fashion and fell in love with my dress from Australian label C/MEO Collective.

How did you two meet?

AJ and I met at work. I was a writer at Fox News and AJ was a producer. I remember being introduced to him on my first day, thinking he was really cute. Fast forward four years and our friendship finally blossomed into romance. We started officially dating in April 2014.

How did he pop the question?

AJ orchestrated the most epic way to propose. He planned what I thought was an ordinary date night in NYC, but it was so much greater than that.

He created a video that appeared to be a promotion for DailyMail.com, the company where I work, and rented out one of the one of the largest digital billboards in Times Square – and that’s where the video would play.

But he knew getting me there at the right time would be tricky. So he coordinated with my boss, who told me I needed to check out the promotional video on the big screen at a specific time that night, to make sure it ran without any problems.

The night of Saturday May 14, members from both of our families blended into the crowd at Times Square, waiting for us to show up. AJ and I arrived right on cue, and as we gazed up at the giant screen above us, our families moved into place.

When it got to the “marry me?” screen, I burst out a scream of excitement as AJ got down on one knee and popped the question.

Without hesitation, I said yes!

Our friend filmed the entire proposal so we could cherish the special moment forever, and after he posted it online it went viral! We were featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, ABC, NBC, Fox News, DailyMail.com, NASH FM and Inside Edition!

What are you most excited about for your wedding? (Dances, speeches, vows, party etc).

Nicole: I’m so excited for our first look and to see AJ looking so handsome in his tuxedo. I also cannot wait to dance the night away with all our family and friends at the reception.

AJ: I’m excited to celebrate with all our friends and family and eat all the delicious food at Nanina’s In The Park.

What is your favorite memory together?

Obviously our proposal takes the cake, but meeting Taylor Swift backstage before her 1989 concert in Nashville was a night we’ll never forget. AJ and I meet a lot of celebrities at our jobs but we both were a little starstruck meeting Taylor. She was so genuine and down-to-earth, we could have talked the whole night!

What’s one thing that drew you to your significant other?

AJ: Besides Nicole’s gorgeous looks, it was her personality that drew me in. Her dramatic telling of stories and her love to laugh and smile was what sealed the deal for me!

Nicole: It’s so hard to name just one. When I was in middle school, I remember once writing in my diary all the qualities I wanted my boyfriend/future husband to have. He had to be cute, successful, outgoing, funny and a family man. From the moment I met AJ there was a spark. As our friendship grew stronger, I realized my future husband was right in front of me the whole time.
